Homestudy Update

Last night the Homestudy went fine. Nothing earth shattering occurred. The only rooms she looked in were Cade’s and the Green Room, which was mostly because Cade enticed her there. I can’t say that we even talked much about adoption – we did discuss some changes we made in regards to our levels of openness concerning race and medical issues. That was even mostly us telling her our changes, she didn’t question us about them. It was pretty much what we expected, just a formality. It’s easy to get irritated at the fact we had to take the time and money to go through this again. I know I’ve had a lot of questions about why we are having to do this again. It’s the way it is – things can change a lot in a year. Luckily for us last this last year was somewhat uneventful, but we all know how quickly things can change. We had to go through it again because our agency is a responsible one, they care about all the families they are serving (adoptive and birth) and I’m pretty sure it could be the law. I’m not 100% on that last one but if it’s not a state law then it should be.
